The Future Software 2013

OK so last night I saw the Julie and Julia film , all about a recipe book which is real. Spent the whole night eating, so if you do watch this film keep food locked away , or you are likely to gain 6 lbs  with regular sorties to the Fridge and Larder etc.

Well that was 2012 , a great year for us Brits! Our year yyear really.

Back to the Future , thisis the second post I have on the subject , the last being 3 yeras ago, not exactly prolific. I actually want to starty a Blog on my songwritng exploits the past 3 years and post some of my Lyrics somewhere for people to dslaughter or praise , any ideas welcome.

As to Technology adn the future of software , its had a strong 3 yeras considering the general economic environment. Look at the shares of VMWare , IBM SalesForce etc . Cloud apps are really the way forward . SAP and Oracle continue to make acquisitions of cloud vendors , but are stuck between strategies at the moment, a dangerous place. What do you predict for 2013 tech sector. No doubt it will continue to reinvent on the back of the cloud security , Data and Mobile etc

I will be keenly viewing Jive, Apttus , Veracode , Zuora, Financial Force to see who get acqiured this year.

The E Economy

Wow what a few months its been, clearly no one anticipated how bad a state the general economy has got into, and so quickly! But I am starting to wonder and suspect that the speed of recovery could be in a similar vein…Or am I just a hopeless optimist.. No not me never have been. Here’s my take as I endure my third recession. I just wonder how much the speed of news, communication and information via email, Mobile, Web etc which has become a part of our fabric and is mature now, compared to 8-10 years ago (where most were early adopters) is the reason for how quickly we have found ourselves in this mess.
But shouldn’t the reverse show some truths too. Let’s reflect how quickly information travels compared to the last recession? Are we not heading for the never-ending peak and troughs of the economy to have shorter cycles for this simple reason?

We now see organisations preparing for what we expect to be a quick return to a more positive general economic. Pipelines are evolving as potential deals can only be

stalled for so long. We anticipate a rush to capture these deals. It is only companies that recruit ahead of this curve who will really benefit.

The creation of a solid European beachhead provides one of the main platforms to enhance a tech vendors valuation.
